The Walton Oaks neighborhood lies in West Bloomington on the northside of Bush Lake between Lakeview Road and West Bush Lake Road. Walton Oaks is a well-established neighborhood that consists of ranches and two story traditional homes. House prices range from $300,000 to $400,000 on the west side of the neighborhood and $400,000 to $600,000 for homes near the lake. There are approximately 100 single family homes in Walton Oaks.

Residents of Walton Oaks have easy access to several nearby parks, including Hyland Park to the east and Bush Lake Park to the south. There are is an abundance of recreational amenities available to visitors, including kayaking, boating, relaxing on the beach, swimming, skiing, and more. The closest shopping center to Walton Oaks is the Eden Prairie Shopping Center to the west across Highway 169. The shopping center has a plethora of dining, shopping, and entertainment options including JCPenney, Target, Great Mandarin, and AMC Theatre.

Walton Oaks is served by Independent School District 271, also known as Bloomington Public Schools, which has served the entire City of Bloomington since 1917. The closest school to the Walton Oaks neighborhood is Ridgeview Elementary, which serves around 400 students in grades K-5. The student to teacher ratio at the school is 16.3 and is ranked first among elementary schools in Bloomington. Other nearby schools include Normandale Hills Elementary, Bethany Academy, and Olson Elementary and Middle School.
